Attention Virginia Pawnbrokers:
The legislation that caused such great concern for our industry has been successfully stalled.
However, we are still in need of contributions to cover the expense of the lobbyist. Please, come to the annual
meeting* on 4/30/06 (*see calendar of events) prepared to do your part, if you haven't already. If these bills become laws, we will all face serious financial setbacks
in our businesses. The momentum to STALL these bills was great, but we must keep the ball rolling and put a complete STOP
to them. A well funded, unified, and informed organization is the key to the success of our industry in Virginia.
We need to not only react to legislation that can harm us, but be proactive
in creating a relationship with law enforcement, law makers, and the public that can benefit us. Please attend the Annual
Meeting on 4/30/06. If you can't attend the meeting, at least join or renew membership in the association so that we
can keep you informed and your dues will help with our financial support.
